Ford is a major automotive manufacturer in Europe with about 105000 employees and 40000M Euro annual turnover. The Ford Research and Innovation center (RIC) Aachen was founded in 1994 to provide support for Ford of Europe’s research and advanced engineering needs. R&A areas include: Diesel and Gasoline Engine Research & Advanced Engineering, Environmental Science, Hybrid vehicle technologies, Telematics & Navigation, Advanced Materials, Vehicle Dynamics.

The tasks of Ford in the ADAS&ME project includes validation, integration and testing of driver state sensors and algorithms under real-world conditions for certain sub-systems. Ford is Co-leader of WP4 (Driver State Monitoring).
